After the devastating EF-5 tornado that tore through Joplin on May 22, many efforts have been taken to put the community back in one piece.  As a member of the community, Arvest Bank has participated in various fundraising and charity events to help bring one of our communities back together.  And now, nearly four months later, Arvest Bank as a whole has joined the Habitat for Humanity of Joplin and Habitat for Humanity of Tulsa in a huge rebuilding initiative called Ten for Joplin.

About Ten for Joplin

The Ten for Joplin project team has set a goal to build 10 homes beginning Oct. 29 within 16 days. Arvest Bank is proudly sponsoring one of those homes, committing to a $60,000 pledge donation for building expenses and numerous volunteers that are eager to show off their handyman side and assist with building the house.  Arvest Mortgage Company/Central Mortgage Company, WACO Title Company and Arvest Asset Management have all joined in on this effort by pledging donations from their budgets as well, making this a bank-wide gift to the community.

“Arvest Bank is proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity and sponsor one of the ten homes to be built in Joplin. Our community is making tremendous strides in the rebuilding effort and is sure to be stronger than ever before. We certainly wouldn’t miss the opportunity to be part of this amazing effort,” said Doug Doll, President/CEO of Arvest in Joplin.

How You Can Help

We are all thrilled to participate in this way and would like to extend an invitation for you to be a part of this wonderful and rewarding gift with us! Fundraising efforts are continuing through the month of October to support this donation.  Through the end of month, visit one of the 32 in-store Wal-Mart Arvest Branches and purchase a Habitat Brick for $1.00.  All donations will be given to the Ten for Joplin project house.
